Project: Shepherd’s Shade Spiritual Park Cemetery

Integrated Landscape Development Plan for a cemetery in Namibia.

The Windhoek Municipality already had a designated site for a cemetery and asked that we provide the Landscape plan.

The envisioned plan that was created was to steer away from the conventional cemetery connotations and instead to create a space that is spiritual, tranquil, warm and which invites recreational use.

From inception, all naturally occurring features were mapped out for the development to be designed around these; walkways were integrated into the existing ecological corridors, the placement of infrastructure took into consideration the natural topography and drainage lines.
